**Beginning with the 2020-2021 school year, ALL seniors must either complete the FAFSA or sign a waiver stating that they choose to opt out of it. This was signed into law recently and is a graduation requirement.** This DOES NOT apply to the class of 2020.
The most important step to acquiring financial aid is completing the FAFSA. It opens up on October 1st. Aid is awarded on a first come basis, so it is important to fill it out as soon as possible. We will have a FAFSA completion night at the high school in early October if you would like assistance with the process. You will need to have an FSA ID prior to completing the FAFSA. There is a link below to request your ID. Both the student and the parent need their own FSA ID.

New for the 2019-2020 FAFSA: FAFSA has a mobile app!
Visit the "app store" on your mobile device to download the myStudentAid app. Please make sure you are using the app sponsored by the US Department of Education. This app is free! Just one more way to complete your FAFSA!
The following documents are needed to complete the FAFSA:
* The Federal Student Aid PIN was replaced with the FSA ID on May 10, 2015. The new FSA ID consists of a user-created username and password to electronically access personal information on Federal Student Aid Web sites, including FAFSA on the Web. You can use your FSA ID immediately to sign your FAFSA, but must wait for the Social Security Administration (SSA) to verify your information before you can use the FSA ID to create a renewal FAFSA, make corrections to your FAFSA, or view your SAR. You can apply for your username and password at the following website: https://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/fafsa/filling-out/fsaid. We recommend applying for your FSA ID in early/mid September.
* Social Security Number (parent and student)---be sure it is correct!
* Records of Income, such as income earned from work and business, child support paid or received and any other untaxed income. If available, refer to the W-2 Forms and the Federal Income Tax Return IRS 1040, 1040A or 1040EZ. You should use your completed tax form from your 2017 taxes which you filed in April of 2018.
* Information about assets, such as cash, checking, savings, certificates of deposit, stock options, bonds, 529 plans and other college savings programs; and investment real estate, business and farm.
* Driver's license number, if the student has one
* Dates of birth, including month, day, and year for parents and student
* Month and year of marriage, separation, divorce or other change in marital status.
* Alien Registration Number, if not a US Citizen
Reminder: If you are a male student, age 18-25, you must register with the Selective Service at www.sss.gov before you may complete FAFSA.
